Daniel Phillips is the founder of SydneyGhostTour.com
Our Mission statement is "Telling the stories of the past in the present, in a way that is so vivid, compelling and real, that they embed themselves into the consciousness of the future"
He is a local historian & tour guide, who has researched in enormous depth and detail the hidden history of Sydney, Australia. SydneyGhostTour.com seeks to tell the story of Sydney, and Australia’s forgotten pioneers. We preserve and promote their memory, by vividly telling their stories in the present, both through our tours, the internet and via other technologies.
We proudly stand on the basis that 70% of what we talk about is provable fact, based on fastidious research of original documentation ( such as letters, diaries and personal documents.) Our stories go back to the source as far as humanly possible, and cross reference this with contemporary documents from that era . So you will see, hear and feel a side of the story that the "official channels" and academics DON'T talk about.
10% of our tours is our opinion, based on our "joining the dots" from that research.
The 20% Paranormal component of our tours - is something you can completely make your own mind up about! In any case - you will have a night to remember!
Our company came about as a result of watching, with mounting frustration, elected officials and bureacrats paying lip service, and not much else, to the need for preserving our heritage. It became apparent that an alternative plan was needed before more was lost. Rather than wait for Government to “get around to it”, SydneyGhostTour.com places 10% of all pre-tax profits directly into an active conservation fund, and directly acts in the promotion of history through the internet and multimedia presentations, the preservation of historic sites, headstones, and other remaining artifacts. Essentially, it is a “Profit for a purpose” organisation.
Therefore, every time that you come along on one of our tours, you know that you are directly contributing to the preservation and commemoration of the people and places you will see and hear about on our tours.

As part of new legislation that protects the public, the NSW parliament has implemented a "Certificate for Self Employed People" for working with children that is due to become compulsory in May 2011.
It is a thorough background check done by the NSW and Australian Federal Police, checking all State, Territory and Federal records, to ensure that an applicant is a fit and proper person to conduct business activities such as coaching, teaching and other activities with young people.
I have recieved this certification as part of the due diligence, and required certifications /set up of SydneyGhostTour.com, and BeyondTheGrave.Net.Au, as a part of the Federal Government New Enterprise Incentive Scheme.
As a result you can bring your supervised teenagers and children along to our night tours, and send them on our daytime Heritage tours, with confidence that they are in responsible care.
